Social security: if you work for a Thai employer
- If you work for an employer in Thailand, you are insured through the Social Security Office (SSO), and both you and the employer pay in every month.
- Your right to medical care starts after at least 3 months of contributions within the 15 months before treatment.
- Routine care is at the hospital the SSO assigned to you. Emergencies have separate reimbursement rules.
