Who can work in Germany, where to look for jobs, when you need your degree recognised, and how to register as self-employed.
✓ Checked against the sources: October 2026⚠️ This isn't legal advice. Visa requirements change, so always check the official source or a lawyer.
First: are you allowed to work
EU citizens (including Israelis with an EU passport) can work in Germany without a visa. Israelis without an EU passport can enter Germany without a visa and apply for a residence permit from inside Germany, within 90 days of entry. To work you need a permit that allows it. Check the requirements on the German Foreign Office's site and with the local immigration office.

Where to look
- Bundesagentur für Arbeit: Germany's public employment service and its largest job board.
- EURES: the EU's job portal.
- In tech and international companies many jobs are in English. Hebrew can be an advantage, so also search for jobs with "Hebrew".
