Work and careers in Canada
Who can work in Canada, where to look for jobs, when you need your degree recognised, and how to register as self-employed.
✓ Checked against the sources: October 2026⚠️ This isn't legal advice. Visa requirements change, so always check the official source or a lawyer.
First: are you allowed to work
Canadian citizens and permanent residents can work in Canada. Without that status you usually need a work permit: an employer-specific permit that needs a job offer, or an open permit that doesn't. An EU passport doesn't give you the right to work in Canada. The requirements for each permit are on the site of Canada's immigration department (IRCC).

- Hebrew is an advantage: search LinkedIn for jobs with "Hebrew".
